Youtube premium price hike: subscribers face another cost bump

Google is once again raising prices for its YouTube Premium service, this time with a hike across all US tiers. The move comes as a blow to subscribers who have already absorbed several price increases from the tech giant in recent years.

Youtube premium plans get costlier

The individual plan is jumping from $13.99 to $15.99 per month, while the family tier is increasing from $22.99 to $26.99, a $4 monthly bump that adds up to almost $50 more per year. YouTube Premium Lite, launched about a year ago at $7.99, is climbing to $8.99. YouTube Music Premium is moving from $10.99 to $11.99.

Subscribers are starting to receive email notifications about the change, though Google hasn't officially announced the price increases. According to these emails, the new rates will take effect with the June 2026 billing cycle.

This marks the third time in four years that Google has hiked YouTube Premium prices in the US. The family plan went from $17.99 to $22.99 in 2022, and individual plans followed in 2023, moving from $11.99 to $13.99.
