In fact, a properly designed and trained AI system may, counterintuitively, exhibit a lower error rate than a stressed and fatigued human operator in a battlefield environment – a point often overlooked in public discourse.

Ultimately, the challenge isn't simply to regulate AI, but to ensure that those regulations are universally adopted and enforced. The stakes are too high to allow this to become another arena for unchecked technological arms race. The future of warfare—and perhaps the future of humanity—may depend on it.
