A powerful new Android Trojan, dubbed PromptSpy by cybersecurity firm ESET, has been identified using artificial intelligence (AI) to gain control over mobile devices.

The malware, discovered by ESET researcher Lukáš Štefanko, leverages Google's Gemini AI Technology to adapt to its Android environment, making it nearly undetectable and capable of intercepting sensitive information.

PromptSpy, which has only been found in a single Argentine app called MorganArg, can capture a device's screen, record audio, and even block the user from uninstalling the malicious software. It achieves this by exploiting Accessibility Services, creating invisible overlays that prevent removal attempts.
