As Karim Adib, a public relations manager, discovered, stepping away from AI prompts and returning to the old-fashioned method of walking and jotting down ideas in a notebook proves more rewarding, even if less “efficient.” “Everyone else has access to ChatGPT,” he says, “so if we’re all operating in the same way, what advantage do I really have?”

The quest for optimization shouldn’t eclipse the fundamental truth: human creativity flourishes not in the sterile environment of algorithmic efficiency, but in the messy, unpredictable terrain of thoughtful exploration—even, and perhaps especially, when staring at a blank page.
