The deal surfaced overnight without press fanfare, stock counter already flickering between “In stock” and “Only 4 left.” At press time every size-band combo in silver is discounted; graphite and gold variants remain at full freight.

Why the sudden fire sale?

Apple cleared channel inventory ahead of June’s watchOS 11 drop, yet carriers still dangle the Series 9 as a premium gateway to Fitness+ and health data plans. amazon appears happy to torch margin to keep checkout heat high ahead of Prime Day optics.

Inside, the S9 SiP still benches within 8% of the S10 on single-core tasks, and the 2 000-nit LTPO OLED matches this year’s brightness. You lose the 10% thinner case and the new Taptic-based apnea alerts, but ECG, SpO₂, skin temperature and Crash Detection ride intact. Battery remains the familiar 18-hour spec—serviceable, not stellar.
