Android Auto is throwing a tantrum, and it’s not pretty. A recent update is triggering widespread connectivity issues, with many users vehemently advising against installing it until a fix is found.

The trouble, which began surfacing at the end of March, primarily targets wireless connections within vehicles. Multiple reports detail a frustrating pattern: the application abruptly disconnects from external displays – those aftermarket infotainment systems not built into the car from the factory – every few minutes during operation. It then automatically reconnects seconds later, rendering the experience wholly unusable.
What’s particularly alarming is that vehicles equipped with Android Auto natively integrated into the car itself seem to be unaffected. This issue is strictly confined to third-party devices attempting to retrofit the functionality.
Users consistently report a stark contrast: before the update, everything functioned flawlessly. Immediately after installation, the disconnections began, a relentless cycle of disconnects and reconnects. Attempts to troubleshoot – reinstalling the app, testing newer versions, even manually deploying APK files – have yielded no results. Android Auto 16.7, the current version, remains conspicuously devoid of a permanent solution.
