Apple's airpods with cameras and second-gen foldable iphone on track for 2027

Apple is gearing up to release a range of new devices, including the long-rumored AirPods with cameras and the second generation of its foldable iPhone Ultra, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

The earbuds, which were originally slated for 2026, will feature cameras inside the stems and lights that indicate data upload to the cloud. They're poised to serve as the 'eyes' of an upgraded Siri, providing visual context about the user's surroundings.

The second-generation iPhone Ultra, codenamed V78, is also set for release, cementing foldable phones as an annual occurrence from Apple.

Additionally, Gurman reports that the 20th anniversary iPhone, with two models (V73 and V74), may boast all-screen displays with curved glass, succeeding the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Samsung plans to launch new earbuds, but they won't be AI-powered like Apple's. Meanwhile, no word yet on a sequel to the Pixel Buds Pro.

While the component shortage and leadership change might alter Apple's plans, Gurman believes the anniversary iPhone and iPhone Ultra 2 are definitely in the pipeline.
