Chips, kernel, browser engine and radio stack were aligned like F1 gears. Apple’s vertical integration is legendary; Google just proved horizontal coordination can be nastier.

Why this matters before your next upgrade
Carriers will soon slap “fastest mobile browsing” on every android poster. They won’t lie. Yet the real flex is inside Qualcomm’s next-gen scheduler and the ARM cores that now speak Chrome’s V8 dialect natively. Google’s message to Apple is frank: the open stack caught up, then overtook. The gap will widen each cycle that iOS clings to single-vendor silicon. Safari can shave JavaScript nanoseconds, but it can’t swap radios or re-prioritize threads without a full iOS drop.
