Leaving earth orbit: a crucial milestone
Having successfully completed the critical engine burn, Orion has now left Earth orbit and is firmly on course for a lunar flyby. This maneuver eliminates a major hurdle for NASA and its traditional aerospace contractors, paving the way for establishing a sustainable lunar base and, ultimately, human missions to Mars.
