Revolut & taxdown: spain's tax season just got a digital upgrade
Forget queuing at the Agencia Tributaria. Revolut, already a dominant force in the Spanish banking sector, is streamlining tax compliance with an integration of TaxDown, a fiscal advisory platform. The move, announced this week, aims to simplify the notoriously complex Spanish tax system for its 6 million+ users, potentially saving them hundreds of euros.
A permanent perk for premium users
The partnership isn't a fleeting promotion; it's baked into Revolut's subscription tiers. Ultra plan holders receive TaxDown’s full advisory suite, while Metal subscribers gain access to live support. Premium users secure the Pro version of the platform. But even standard Revolut users aren’t left out – they're eligible for a 40% discount on any TaxDown advisory tier, a deal valid until June 30th. The allure? TaxDown users have reportedly shaved an average of €400 off their tax bills.
But there's a detail rarely discussed: the sheer inertia of Spanish bureaucracy. For years, filing taxes has been synonymous with endless paperwork and frustrating delays. Revolut’s move isn't just about saving money; it's about reclaiming time. The financial institution, now the fourth largest in Spain by user count, is leveraging its official AEAT collaborator status to solidify its position as a digital financial hub.

A limited-time incentive for new clients
To encourage adoption ahead of the tax filing deadline, Revolut is throwing in an extra incentive. New account holders who sign up before June 30th will receive a complimentary TaxDown PRO plan, valued at €75. The process is straightforward – a link from TaxDown facilitates the subscription, settled via Revolut card, with the benefit applied automatically. The company has already overseen over €1 billion in taxes, proving the appetite for a more efficient approach.
The partnership reflects a broader shift. Traditional banking is giving way to a mobile-first model, where financial management – from investing to paying bills to, now, filing taxes – is consolidated in a single app. Revolut and TaxDown aren’t just simplifying compliance; they’re engineering a paradigm shift in how Spaniards interact with their finances. They aim to dismantle the bureaucratic roadblocks, effectively returning control of time and money to the taxpayer.
