Spain's tax agency deploys ai-powered 'pathfinder' to track tax evaders
The Spanish tax authority has launched a new AI-powered tool called Pathfinder to identify and track tax evaders. The system, acquired from Israeli company Syvalue for €326,000 in September 2023, can analyze hundreds of terabytes of data, including photos, conversations and credit card transactions.

Pathfinder's advanced features
The AI tool uses sophisticated algorithms to connect the dots and discard irrelevant information, allowing it to quickly pinpoint suspicious activity. It can interpret context, identify entities, and categorize chats based on fiscal risk or fraud. Pathfinder can even spot recurring visual patterns in luxury cars, high-end properties, and jewelry.
